Vermont coalitions attend national conference in Washington
More than 20 members of Vermont substance abuse prevention community coalitions visited with Sens. Leahy and Sanders as part of the National Leadership Forum for members of Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America (CADCA) held February 9-13. The coalition members talked with the senators and staff members from the office of Rep. Peter Welch about substance abuse prevention efforts in Vermont and how the congressional representatives can suppoprt their efforts to decrease alcohol and other drug abuse in Vermont.
The coalition members were part of more than 2700 substance abuse advocates from across the country at the 19th annual National Leadership Forum, held last week at the National Harbor in Maryland. The event provided participants an opportunity to learn the latest strategies to fight substance abuse and to hear from nationally-known experts and policymakers.
