The Division of Health Surveillance
- Investigates and monitors reportable diseases
- Identifies disease causing agents, and offers counseling, testing, and follow-up services to prevent the spread of disease
- Develops approaches for prevention, intervention, and early detection and treatment of cancer and other leading causes of death
- Conducts epidemiological studies including monitoring, surveillance and control of chronic diseases and disabling conditions
- Collects and analyzes data to determine the health status, morbidity, and mortality of Vermont's population
