Additional Cases of Influenza A H5N1 in the United States Confirmed
CDC is confirming additional cases of influenza A H5N1 in the United States, all among residents of California. These cases have been identified as a result of the investigation by the California Department of Health. Cases include those who traveled on the same airline as the case reported yesterday as well as immediate family members of that case.
Officials from the California Department of Health continue their investigation of these cases and are implementing the necessary control measures.
As a reminder, state and local health officials should review the recommendations provided in the Health Alert disseminated Monday July 17, 2006.
