Transportation Systems Throughout Vermont Counties
- If person has Medicaid then all transportation is covered. If not then there are alternate ways to be transported and inexpensive ways to pay. Most private pay is 37.5 cents a mile. This is from the drivers home and back.
- Most counties have resources and bus schedules if needed.
- Most agencies will travel throughout Vermont to transport but may need referral from dentist.
Addison County
Addison County Transit Resources: 388-1946
Shuttle Bus for Tri-Town area (Middlebury, Bristol,
Vergennes). Specific bus route but will deviate within
reasonable distance from route upon approval from
office
Many additional transportation services available
including Medicaid eligible transportation.
Bennington County
Green Mountain American Red Cross: 442-9458
Two Buses Available on a specific route in the Bennington,
N. Bennington, and Pownal: Cost is 50 cents. There
is no age for traveling on this bus.
Also Medicaid Transportation available. This needs
to be set up at least 24 hrs ahead of time.
Caledonia County

They need two working days notice. If the child is
12 and under then there needs to be adult supervision.
Chittenden

Private services available for Medicaid but they prefer

Greater Rutland Area
"The Bus" provides free Medicaid transportation
Program in Greater Rutland area. The contact number
