Vermont College Health Survey

College students represent a diverse yet distinct population with specific health risks and needs. To address this need, the Vermont Department of Health began working with colleges and universities across the state to gather information on the health and risk behaviors of college students in the state.

The Vermont College Health Survey is conducted every other year, since 2014. In 2014, the survey was conducted in conjunction with the ACHA-National College Health Assessment. Beginning in 2016, a Vermont-specific survey, the College Health Survey, was designed to assess a wide range of health -related behaviors among Vermont students, including alcohol, tobacco and other drug use, sexual health, weight, nutrition and exercise, mental health, and personal safety and violence. Schools may also participate in optional modules such as those to assess sexual violence and campus climate.
