Information for You

The Care Alliance for Opioid Addiction (Hub & Spoke system) is a statewide partnership of clinicians and treatment centers that provide medication-assisted therapy to Vermonters addicted to opioid drugs.

In an overdose, opioids can slow breathing to the point of death. To save lives, the Health Department gives out a medication called naloxone (trade name Narcan®) that can reverse an overdose.

HIV can be prevented, and the risk of infection greatly reduced, through changes in behaviors or taking actions that can interrupt transmission.

Most people who have HCV are unaware that they are infected because they don’t look or feel sick, but they can still transmit the virus to others.

Here's how to find community-based alcohol and drug abuse prevention resources. Prevention staff in our 12 local health department offices around the state can help.

If convicted of driving under the influence of alcohol or other drugs, you must successfully complete the Impaired Driver Rehabilitation Program before your privilege to drive can be reinstated.
