Maternal and Child Health in East Central Vermont

Our Maternal and Child Health coordinator works with health providers at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Alice Peck Day Hospital and Gifford Medical Center, especially with their family practices, pediatric offices and OB/GYN offices. We promote statewide public health messages and services including “049” (zero alcohol for nine months of pregnancy), safe sleep practice for infants, dental health and resources, preconception health, smoking cessation resources, obesity prevention, WIC, Fostering Healthy Families, education and bereavement follow-up for Sudden Unexpected Infant Death and referrals to community services.

We connect with community partners to maintain a strong network of referrals, and to emphasize the importance of health messages for the clients of these agencies. We provide assistance and pointers in case management. Our partners include:
