BURLINGTON – Anyone age 18 to 24 who gets vaccinated against H1N1 flu on Friday at the Burlington YMCA (4 p.m. to 7 p.m.) will receive a coupon for a “shot” of coffee at 12 participating locations.
The “A Shot for a Shot” promotion also offers a chance to win four tickets to an upcoming concert at Higher Ground.
Shops offering a cup of coffee for a coupon are: Jazzman’s (at the Champlain College Student Center), UVM Davis Center, Market Place, Muddy Waters, Uncommon Grounds, Mirabelles, Dunkin Donuts (at five area locations) and Starbucks (Burlington Town Centre location only).
The flu clinic, especially set up for young people but open to anyone age 6 months and older, will be conducted by the VNA of Chittenden/Grand Isle Counties.
A Shot for a Shot is part of Burlington's Take the Lead campaign. Take the Lead is a national effort to encourage everyone to know what to do about the flu: get vaccinated, take everyday actions to keep germs from spreading, stay informed, and make a personal or family flu plan.
