Real White Heroes (Beyond Cultural Competence Series)
Identifying as white Identifying as white during a period of renewed racial reckoning in the United States brings with it complex issues. Lifting up examples from the past, learn about white allies and co-conspirators who leveraged their privilege and risked comfort in the name of racial justice. Connect these figures to a sense of positive white identity, built on heroes from history that exemplified their full humanity based on mutual support rather than false notions of racial superiority.
Learning Objectives:

- Participants will be able to draw connections between past and modern issues of race and racism, with a focus on the decisions and actions of real white heroes
- Participants will be able to connect key figures to a sense of positive white identity grounded in liberation for all marginalized people
