Communities throughout Vermont are building and implementing comprehensive health and wellness projects that promote healthy behavior - including better nutrition, increased physical activity, and disease prevention. The Vermont Department of Health periodically issues Requests For Proposals (RFP) to support implementation of these programs and initiatives.

Combined Community Coalition Prevention Grant
The Vermont Department of Health (VDH) is issuing this Request for Proposals (RFP) to support implementation of community-based chronic disease prevention strategies related to alcohol and drug abuse, nutrition and physical activity, and tobacco control. Responders to the RFP must apply to work on at least two of the following program areas:
- Alcohol and Drug Abuse – up to $40,000 available
- Nutrition and Physical Activity – up to $40,000 available
- Tobacco Control – up to $40,000 available In addition, all applicants must agree to participate in the Healthy Retailers project and may request up to $10,000 for this work.

CHAMPPS
The Department of Health distributes the state's Coordinated Healthy Activity, Motivation & Prevention Programs (CHAMPPS) competitive, multi-year grants to Vermont-based community organizations. Visit the CHAMPPS Grant home page for complete information and resources.
For FY2011, eligible organizations or coalitions are those who are completing year one of the two-year FY2010 CHAMPPS funding.
