Preliminary Test Results Negative for Package Opened in Federal Building

BURLINGTON – On Tuesday, June 29, the Vermont Department of Health began testing a suspicious substance collected from a package that was opened at the Federal Building in Burlington.

As of approximately 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, a preliminary test on the substance was negative for anthrax. A confirmation test will take up to 72 hours.
