How to Access Clean Needles in Vermont
Sterile syringes are available at pharmacies throughout Vermont, and are available without a prescription. Syringes cost approximately 50 cents per syringe or approximately $4.00 for a box of 10.
Syringe Exchange Programs (SEP) are located in Burlington, St. Johnsbury, White River Junction and Brattleboro. Possession of needles and syringes as part of a SEP is not in violation of Vermont’s paraphernalia law. Syringe exchange in these locations is free, legal and anonymous.
