As one of the most commonly used substance use treatment levels of care, Intensive Outpatient (ASAM 2.1) is a cornerstone for many organizations providing substance-use services. Thus, understanding the fundamentals of IOP is essential component for counselors and organizations. This free webinar will provide a broad overview of ASAM 2.1 IOP services, including changes from the ASAM 3rd Edition to 4th Edition. 

This presentation will review IOP goals and tasks for the level of care and incorporate how to connect the biopsychosocial assessment to tangible treatment goals and documentation (“the Golden Thread”). Common challenges encountered within harm-reduction and abstinence-based treatment models will also be identified and practical strategies for addressing these issues in group treatment settings will be discussed.
