Food benefits are loaded at 12:00 a.m. on the first day of the month and expire at 11:59 p.m. on the last day of the month. Benefits do not roll over to the next month. To get the most out of WIC, buy all your WIC foods each month. So it’s a good habit to check your balance before you shop.
There are several ways to check your WIC food balance:
Call 1-855-769-8890 (the number on the back of your WIC card) and enter your 16-digit WIC card number.
Go to connectebt.com, select Vermont WIC and create or log in to your account.
Check your last receipt for the ending WIC benefit balance. (Tip: If you don’t keep receipts snap a picture of it with your phone.)
At the store: Ask customer service before you shop or your cashier before scanning items.
Check your balance with a photo of your last receipt using the WICShopper mobile app.
