Impact of the Games We Play: Gaming, Gambling, and Addiction

The New England ATTC, in partnership with the Rhode Island Council on Problem Gambling, is hosting this targeted TA session with subject matter expert Ted Hartwell.  This presentation will discuss the difference between healthy and problematic digital gaming and highlight features in video games and social media that may quickly become problematic, particularly for younger users. Many of these features blur the lines between gambling and gaming, and recent research findings suggest a relationship between problematic gambling and problematic digital gaming.
