MAT ECHO - The K2 Crisis and MOUD: A Guide to Patient Management

The New England ATTC, in partnership with Spectrum Health Systems, is hosting the next session in the fall series of the Advancing Medications for Addiction Treatment in Correctional Settings ECHO Program on November 20, 2025, with subject matter expert Dr. Katie Krauskopf, MD.

As the seventh session in the ECHO series on medications for addiction treatment in correctional settings, this training highlights the ongoing K2 crisis and its implications for working with patients on MOUD in corrections. It will begin with a review of K2 use and its particular effects on individuals on MOUD, then move on to a deeper, multi-disciplinary examination of strategies to identify and manage K2 intoxication among incarcerated individuals on MOUD. Finally, participants will learn prevention and harm reduction strategies to minimize K2 Use and its medical complications in correctional settings.
