Nothing about us without us: Foundations of community-led prevention
In a world where there often are not enough programs and services to address the vast behavioral health needs of the communities we serve, communities have the ability to organize and create meaningful solutions to prevent and mitigate the effects of substance use, mental health problems, and trauma. However, many prevention specialists struggle to engage communities in authentic ways to build up local capacity. This training offers context and a foundational framework to support community prevention specialists in beginning their own journey towards community-led (rather than agency-led) prevention.
