Caffeinate & Innovate, Substance Use in College Life with Dr. Jason Kilmer

For young adults entering college life, it’s a world of new opportunities, experiences and challenges. Dr. Jason Kilmer has spent his career studying prevention and intervention efforts for college students. He sees value in examining the role of misperceived norms around substance use and their relationship to behavior as students fully immerse themselves in “college life”.

Join us for an enlightening discussion on Dr. Kilmer’s work. You’ll leave the session with a better understanding of:

  • Motivational interviewing
  • The potential impact of brief interventions
  • What we’ve learned from over a decade of cannabis legalization and how products are changing

Dr. Kilmer is a Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Washington. His research focuses on the development, implementation, and evaluation of brief interventions and prevention efforts to reduce alcohol- and other drug-related harms among college students and other young adults.
