Spirituality in Behavioral Health for Wellness and Well-Being and Compassion Fatigue: Workforce Well-Being for Providers and Individuals with Lived Experience (two-part series)
The New England ATTC, in partnership with the The Substance Use and Mental Health Leadership Council of Rhode Island, is hosting a targeted virtual TA two-part series, entitled "Spirituality in Behavioral Health for Wellness and Well-Being and Compassion Fatigue: Workforce Well-Being for Providers and Individuals with Lived Experience," with subject matter experts Michele Stewart Copes and Tyron Jackson on September 12 and 17, 2025 from 1:00-3:00PM EST each day.
During Part 1, participants will learn how spirituality and mindfulness are important experiences for improving behavioral health and increasing our wellbeing. Understanding and developing a personal experience of what spirituality uniquely means in our lives provides us with a unique and holistic view for living life mindfully, as it provides insight into healthy personal growth and overall maturity. We will increase Understanding Spirituality, Behavioral Health, SAMHSA’s 8 Dimension of Wellness and Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs in practicing Holistic Health.
During Part 2, the workshop will explore the broad relevance of compassion fatigue across the behavioral health workforce, providers and individuals with lived experience. How is this defined and experienced uniquely among professionals and peer workers? What are the warning signs for burnout and vicarious trauma?
