Improving Tobacco Use and Health Outcomes Statewide Planning Session
By joining us in person at the Waterbury State Office Complex, on Thursday, October 17th from 9am-1pm, you have committed to learning why providing effective, low-cost, evidence-based tobacco treatment for all individuals in Vermont seeking Behavioral Health treatment is necessary to save lives and prevent chronic preventable disease, and how we can support this work together, and with our National Partners, including The Council on Mental Wellbeing, NAMI, and SAMSHA.
This initiative is supported by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s National Center of Excellence for Tobacco-Free Recovery (CoE-TFR), with training and technical assistance for the CoE-TFR provided by Cicatelli Associates Incorporated (CAI). Vermont is one of four States/Territories accepted to participate in the first phase of the CoE-TFR.
Objectives of this meeting are:
· Examine enduring disparities in tobacco use and health outcomes for people with mental health and/or substance use conditions in Vermont
· Identify best and innovative practices for addressing tobacco use among people with mental health and/or substance use conditions
· Integrate perspectives of people with lived experience into development of a statewide plan to reduce rates of tobacco use among people with mental health and/or substance use conditions
· Identify strategies to inform a statewide plan to reduce rates of tobacco use among people with mental health and/or substance use conditions.
For trainings that indicate Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are available, contact the organizer and/or the Vermont Office of Professional Regulation to verify that the credits will count toward the continuing education requirements of your licensure or certification.
